The air is filled with laughter and snatches of conversation. As you enjoy your beer you realise that your manner and clothing are somewhat out of place. A foul smell draws your attention to a half starved cat running down a narrow ginnel to the East. The gates to a small forge ahead of you are high and securely locked. You can see from your map that the eastward path will take you towards the docks. You are relieved that light is visible both to the West and the North East because it is too dark to see the ground. The high walls magnify the shrieks and laughter coming from an open window on the first floor of the ale house. END_ROOM_DESCR 49 ROOM 51 RUTTED ROAD SW 49 - Ginnel NE 50 - Harbour SE 53 - Grain Store END_ROOM 51 ROOM_DESCR 51 -- RUTTED ROAD This well used track runs between a grain store to the South east and the Harbour which is more or less North East. Further out you notice about a dozen ships. From what you know of the press gangs you assume that the fleet is capturing replacements for men lost in battle, or to the ravages of scurvy. The 'hoppy' smell, (quite unlike the aroma of any beer with which you are familiar), comes from the brewhouse to the north. There is a creaking sound from a pulley above.
