Trans64 Version 1.25 Trans64 is a program to transfer files between the PC and a C64 floppydrive. The floppy is connected with a simple cable to the parallelport of the PC. You can transfer files among virtual disks, virtual tapes, dos and the floppydrive. Also you can transfer whole disks if a 1541, 1570 or 1571 is connected. You can use fast transferroutines for the filetransfer. So you can read or write a whole disk in 2 1/2 minutes. With normal speed you will need 9 minutes to read the whole disk and 9 1/2 minutes to write the whole disk. Also you can use a turbo routine to read a whole disk in 1:06 minutes. The cable used for the connection is either the cable used by X1541 or the cable used by Disk64E. To build the cable read the section 'cable' of the online-help. If you have already built a cable connect the floppy to the PC and switch it on before you start the program. So the program will automatically detect the cable and floppydrive connected with the PC. Otherwise select the menupoint 'configuration' and select your setup. Trans64 requires a 80286 and MS-DOS 3.3. As it runs in protected mode it will use your XMS. If Trans64 fails to start please use the MS-DOS memory manager instead of third party products. If Trans64 doesn't recognice you parallel port start Trans64 either with trans64 lpt1 (lpt2 or lpt3) if you have connected your drive to printer port 1, 2 or 3, or with trans64 none if you don't have connected any drive to your PC. You should also try to start Trans64 with trans64 -d120 if it doesn't detect your drive. Then you should read the online help for more information on how to solve your hardware problem.
