Halite v1.20 By: Paul Panks "A vampire is said to be ravaging the countryside with legions of the undead. The townsfolk have scattered to the hills, and it is up to you (a noted vampire hunter) to track down this hideously evil being and slay him with your sword." Notes: 1) Halite was originally written in QBasic, but was later compiled to run without needing a BASIC interpreter. 2) Basic commands during gameplay include: go, get, drop, wield, unwield, wear, remove, use, light, examine, kill, score, inventory, climb, look, quit. 3) Commands must be entered in the traditional "verb-noun" format. An example of this would be: wield sword 4) You can examine items described within the room descriptions (including monsters and other objects). 5) The ultimate goal of the game is to defeat the evil vampire (not exactly original, but oh well...). Just run 'Halite.exe' to play the adventure game. I included the source code for anyone wishing to modify the adventure game (or just to learn how it was written). Please send comments, suggestions and bug fixes to me at: dunric@yahoo.com Enjoy Halite! :) Sincerely, Paul Panks [a/k/a "Dunric"] dunric@yahoo.com December 20, 2003
