These are statically built binaries for Mac OS X.  The version number
is the minimum supported OS version that the executable will run on.

If platag detects no binary and it's running on Mac OS X, a symlink is
made to one of the static binaries.

10.6 works for Snow Leopard and Lion.
10.8 works for Mountain Lion, Mavericks and Yosemite.
