Welcome to * RPG ADVENTURE 1 * - Hawkstone. # # A New, old adventure by Some Dude and <Insert Your Name Here, esq.>. # # In this game, you will travel to far off imaginary lands with your avatar and attempt to command yourself with basic English sentences; All the while while upping your stats by fighting gratuitous monsters and looting pretend valuables so you can stuggle to the end and earn the magical McGuffin for defeating the game. # # For the most part, Hawkstone is a traditional text adventure game in the style of a TRS-80 Scott Adams parser, but with a few extras to elevate the genre past its sell-by date. Hopefully it will give nostalgia seekers their fix while having some features to entertain newer generations of adventurers. # # This game doesn't have a massive vocabulary. I tried to be clever and program it to understand basic sentences, but I also wanted to have multiple objects with the same name, so if it doesn't get what you're trying to say with: <COMMAND> <OBJECT>, try <COMMAND> <OBJECT1 FULLNAME> <WITH> <OBJECT2 FULLNAME>. # # For many of the puzzles <USE> will be your friend. If you are stuck, simply <LOOK>ing at all the objects might give you a clue on how to continue and you can always try asking for <HELP> as a last resort. # # Along the way you will discover a few errprs here and th3re. Be a good sport and fix them without whining too much. <Insert Your Name Here, esq.> and I never said we were experts at this. # # TIPS: If you are lucky enough to find weapons or armour, you can equip them and increase your stats. Press the enter key to toggle between your stats and your location. # # I'm sorry the game isn't as good or polished as I wanted, but I was down to the wire and needed another week to implement everything I intened.
