Hello!

This is some sort of walkthrough for my entry into the
Interactive Fiction Competition for 1998. The game contains
some random elements, so I won't tell the solution as a
sequence of moves, but rather provide sort of a diffuse
guide.

I will give the solution in a sequence of files, so that
not too much is revealed. The order of the files is this:

purplewt1.txt
purplewt2.txt
.
.
.

Read the topmost file first. The next file will tell solutions
to events succeeding those in the first file and so on.
