The files contained in this archive were derived from the files:

t22copyr.sam   
tads22.sam    
title22.sam

These files contained the release notes for the 2.2 version of TADS
in Lotus Ami Pro format.  Luckily the format was a plain ASCII markup
language, and the markup part of it was pretty easy to get rid of.
I have (hopefully) distilled the useful material from the files.

I am supplying two sets of translated files.  The files in this 
directory contain the manual with certain markup commands left in.
I did this to help people converting to other formats to be able
to recreate the original as well as possible.  The following 
markups are left in:

<+!>, <-!>, <+">, <-">, </'>, <+C>, @PartNumber@, @Title@, @Header@

It seems to me that <+!> and <-!> probably start and end bold text,
and <+"> and <-"> start and end italics. I am not sure what the other
<..> sequences do.  The @.....@ sequences seem to be different types
of sectioning commands, and may also affect page headers and footers.

I was also able to extract an image from the title22.sam file which
is the High Energy Software logo.

The files in this directory are:

hes.gif

While the markups didn't make it too dificult to read, I decided
that they were a little disruptive, so in the plain directory you will
find the same files as above with the markups stripped out.  

I don't have a copy of the manual, and I don't have Ami Pro, so I can't
be sure that everything is correct, but there are complete sentences
and examples, so I think everything came out ok.

I am attatching the license from readme.man at the end of this README
to keep things on the up and up.
