Welcome to GGOLLEK 1: THE DISSOLUTION, the first of a series of text adventures set in the world of Ggollek, as created by The Missing et. al. You become the main character's "alter ego", giving him or her commands through the game's interface. Simply type what you want to do at the prompt. Other "preference" type functions are available by pressing ESCape. NOTE: The verb list function is not active in this adventure. For those unfamiliar with text adventures, here are some commands that might come in useful: LOOK <-- Examine the area you're in EXAMINE <-- Use this to examine a specific object NORTH, SOUTH, etc. <-- Moves you around in a direction, if you can. The game understands the eight cardinal directions, plus UP and DOWN GET <-- Get an object DROP <-- Drop an object I <-- Your current inventory, or what you're carring SAVE <-- Save a game RESTORE <-- Load a saved game VERBOSE/BRIEF <-- Long/short descriptions of rooms QUIT <-- End the adventure VIEW ... <-- Occasionally, the game will list various objects that can be seen as a screen graphic. The command VIEW ... with (... being the name of the object) will allow you to see the graphic. Hit any key when you are done viewing the picture. Most of you should be familiar with typical text adventure interaction. If you're not, just type in what you would do if you were in the character's shoes. If something can't be done, or the game doesn't understand you, you are not penalized; the game will tell you and you can try something else. The game does understand complex statements like: THROW THE ROCK INTO THE RIVER WEAR THE HAT, THE CLOTHES, AND THE SHOES so don't be afraid to experiment. It's up to you to solve the various puzzles and problems in the game, as well as to find out how to win. If you find yourself having problems, try being as methodical as you can, or even just taking a break from the game to think. Have fun!
