THE PYRAMID OF MUNA ADVENTURE SOLUTION Get all your things from the hotel room. You may want to examine them here and open the wallet and the pack so you know what you have to work with. Go SOUTH to the lobby where you will find the desk clerk. ASK THE CLERK ABOUT THE BUS and you will find yourself on the street outside the hotel as the bus pulls up. If you went east out of the hotel instead of asking the clerk, the street will be empty. Wandering around Merida gets you lost at the corner of Walk and Don't Walk. At that point EAST ends the game. If you are in front of the hotel and the bus is there, BOARD THE BUS and GIVE THE MEXICAN COINS TO THE DRIVER. Failing to pay the driver within 15 turns gets you kicked off the bus. If that happens you must go WEST into the hotel and once again ASK THE CLERK to get the next bus. Once the bus is at Muna, EXIT THE BUS. Jose, the Checelero, will be there to meet you. TALK TO JOSE and EXAMINE HIM. He will tell you to go EAST. Continue EAST until you reach the pyramid. Jose will announce that he wants to be paid. The $200 he wants is in the wallet. If he is not paid within 15 turns or if you attack him you will be asked if you would like to be resurected. If so, you will find yourself at the hotel room without your wallet. There will be more Mexican Coins there which you will need to pay your next bus fare to get back to Muna. If this occured, you will have to make your way back to Muna on the bus again. Jose will not be there to greet you this time, but you know the way to the pyramid yourself and he already has your $200 and credit cards. Once at the pyramid, you will want to visit all of its four sides. Use NE to get to the north side or SE to get to the south side. NORTH or SOUTH will get you away from the pyramid and you become lost in the rain forest. WEST will return you to the rainforest trail and then EAST will get you back to the west side of the pyramid. Each side of the pyramid has an image carved in it. It will show up as a "rough place" or "irregular spot". Each of these "places" or "spots" should be examined. CLEAN WALL or REMOVE MOSS will reveal the image. Each image should be examined and studied. They contain information upon which you will later be tested. For fun you might want to climb the pyramid. Its good for a chuckle. Once all four images have been examined and studied, you should return to the east side of the pyramid. PUT THE STONE STAR IN THE STAR-SHAPED RECESS. This will open the door. Before you enter be sure to GET the star. Without it you won't be able to get out of the pyramid by your own choice. Once you have entered the pyramid you will have to turn on your flashlight. Proceed WEST to the instruction chamber. There should be a stone chair here and a figure present. If the figure is examined he will motion you to sit in the chair. SIT IN THE CHAIR starts the orientation speech by the Pyramid Guardian. Answer YES to his question. A NO answer to the question gets you deposited back in the hotel room. More coins will be there so you can catch another bus. A yes answer will result in one of two possible responses by the guardian. If you did study all four images on the outside of the pyramid, he will explain your quest in the pyramid. If not, he will suggest that you go back outside and study the images. From here you have several choices. The game can be played by going any direction, but I will suggest NORTH and WEST. This puts you in the chamber with the large gem. The gem can be examined, studied and turned. If you take the gem, a sequence of events will be put in motion. As long as the emerald is not on the pedestal, the entrance door won't work properly, the stone box won't open, and the elevating column won't work. You have 25 turns to poke around the ground level of the pyramid before the Fierce Lion shows up to set you straight. While waiting for this to happen, you might as well do some exploring. SOUTH will take you into a short north-south passage with a narrow band of carvings on the wall. You might as well examine, study, and rub the carvings as you have 25 turns to kill. Go SOUTH until you reach the chamber with the jade vial in it. Everyone knows you should be careful with vials of unknown substances, but what the heck, this is an adventure. Check it out and note that if it is not in the niche you can't leave the room. If you break the vial or smell, taste or drink it or its contents you will be off for an astral journey. You can't leave the meadow without talking to the woman, but you must have the vial in order to get a response (unless of course you broke it.) Once back in the chamber with the shallow nich, you must PUT THE VIAL IN THE NICHE before you can leave the chamber (unless of course you broke it). If you have used up enough turns at this point the lion should be waiting for you. If not, you can explore for awhile longer: he will show up if the emerald is not on the pedestal. If he is there, you will notice that he is blocking the exits to the room. Attacking him won't help, but feel free to try. The only way to find out what is going on is to either TALK TO THE LION or use up 15 turns trying to get out of the room. The lion will fill you in on what's happening. You may or may not heed his warning, but he will now follow you around in any case. Should you attempt to open the pyramid door and leave with the emerald, the result will be much the same as if you take too long getting back to the chamber with the pedestal. In either case you will be back in the chamber with the large gem and the pyramid guardian. It should be obvious by this point that both the lion and the guardian want you to PUT THE EMERALD ON THE PEDESTAL. Refusal to do so will result in the termination of the game. With the emerald back on the pedestal, there is one chamber left to visit: the chamber with the stone box. Find the Half Sphere Chamber in the center of the pyramid. (South from the large gem chamber, north from the vial chamber, or west from the instruction chamber.) From there go WEST twice. Examine and study the box and then open it. Get the circle, the square and the parchment. Return EAST to the Half Sphere chamber. INSERT THE SQUARE IN THE SQUARE RECESS. Whoops. STAND ON THE PLATFORM AND PUT THE SQUARE IN THE SQUARE RECESS. You are now in the lower level of the pyramid. At this point an observant player would get the square. If you want to get the full Muna experience and learn what the animal on the printed map is, you should leave it there. From here you may choose any of the four doors: the order you proceed in does not matter. If you haven't already done so, EXAMINE and STUDY the parchment. Go NORTH and type HELP, unless you want to spend some time guessing what to do. RA will open the north door. Go NORTH and then EXTINGUISH FLASHLIGHT. Go NORTH two more times, EXAMINE THE MAN and then TALK TO HIM. The answer to the question from Aquarius is found on the north side of the pyramid. Getting the answer wrong at this point will enhance your experience of Muna, especially if you have left the square in the recess. You will be transported back to the north side of the pyramid. There you should be sure to examine and study the image of the man for the answer to the question. To return to the pyramid entrance, go SE. If you left the square, the flashlight, or the stone star behind, you will find them here at this point. The Kinkajou will not let you just GET them though. You will first have to OPEN THE PACK, GET THE SANDWICH, AND FEED THE SANDWICH TO THE KINKAJOU. He will then run off and let you GET the items he was playing with. To get back to the Domain of Ra and Aquarius, PUT STAR IN RECESS, GET STAR, LIGHT FLASHLIGHT, WEST, WEST, WEST, WEST, STAND ON PLATFORM, PUT SQUARE IN SQUARE RECESS, GET SQUARE, NORTH, RA, EXTINGUISH FLASHLIGHT, NORTH, NORTH. TALK TO MAN will give you another chance to answer his question. The answer is CHARITY. When Aquarius offers you the crystal, TAKE THE WHITE SPHERE works fine. You should then EXAMINE IT, STUDY IT, RUB IT and TURN IT. To leave the Domain of Ra, go SOUTH twice. RA will not work here to open the door. To open it, PUSH THE DOOR. LIGHT FLASHLIGHT and go SOUTH. At this point any of the other doors will do fine. To get to the west door, go SOUTHWEST. The red door to the west is opened by MU. WEST, WEST, WEST gets you to the Grassy Meadow where Taurus the Bull is grazing. Its nice to spend some time looking around these places, but if you are in a hurry TALK TO BULL will get you right down to the question. If you expolore the cave before talking to the bull, you will find that the Red Sphere is not there yet and when you go NORTH to the meadow you will find the bull has crossed the river. You cannot CROSS THE RIVER or SWIM THE RIVER, but will have to leave the Domain of Mu and return in order to find the bull accessable. You may go through any of the other doors before returning if you wish. When he is back in the meadow, TALK TO THE BULL. If you answer his question incorrectly, you will be sent outside the Red Door to the Lower Level Central Chamber. Go EAST to the elevating column, STAND ON THE PLATFORM and INSERT THE CIRCLE IN THE CIRCULAR RECESS. Once you reach the ground level of the pyramid, go any direction one move and RUB THE CARVINGS. This will give you the answer to the question. You can then return to the meadow and TALK TO THE BULL again. When you answer the question correctly (FATHER-CREATOR) the bull will tell you the cyrstal is in the cave. Go SOUTH. If your flashlight is off you will have to turn it on. GET THE RED SPHERE. EXAMINE IT, STUDY IT, RUB IT and TURN IT. To leave, return EAST to the Red Door and PUSH THE DOOR. Once in the central chamber you can go SOUTHWEST to get to the South Door. TA will open this door. SOUTH twice gets you to the Intersection of Light Ribbons and EAST will get you to the Golden Disk where the lion is. When you TALK TO THE LION he will ask you a question. If you answer it incorrectly, you will be sent to the south side of the pyramid where you should study the image of the lion. If there is moss on the wall it must first be removed. NORTHEAST will take you to the pyramid entrance. If the Kinkajou has already shown up, he will not show up again. If you left any of the items that you need in order to return to the Lower Level you should find them here. (Nice of the Pyramid Guardian to be so thoughtful.) Use the star to open the pyramid door. By now you should be able to find your own way back to the Domain of Ta. When you next TALK TO THE LION, the answer to his question is ELECTROMAGNETIC. He will then make it possible for you to GET the Blue Sphere. From the Golden Disk go WEST and then SOUTH to the Columns of Light. You can now GET THE BLUE SPHERE. Remember to PUSH THE DOOR to get out of the Domain of Ta. Also be sure to EXAMINE THE BLUE SPHERE, STUDY IT, RUB IT, and TURN IT. Once out the blue door go NORTHEAST to get to the east or yellow door. LA will open this door. EAST twice will put you on the bluff overlooking the sea. The eagle is there in the tree. TALK TO THE EAGLE is the most direct approach here. His question here is easy, but if you get it wrong he will tell you where to find it before he flys away. You will have to go out the yellow door and return to find the eagle there again. The answer to the question is SCORPIO. Follow the eagle's directions and ENTER THE SEA. For fun, EXAMINE THE CRAB and TALK TO IT. GET THE YELLOW SPHERE, EXAMINE IT, STUDY IT, RUB IT and TURN IT. You may now EXIT THE SEA and go WEST to the yellow door. PUSH THE DOOR and go WEST twice more to the circular platform. STAND ON THE PLATFORM and PUT THE CIRCLE IN THE CIRCULAR RECESS. If you still have all four of the crystal spheres, PUSH THE CIRCLE will be your final command as the column rises from the Half Sphere Chamber to the Initiation Chamber. Enjoy the next few screens.
