Since this is early in the game and you may not be used to interacting on a social level with computers I will offer you a bit of help here. Syntax (the order of words) is very important, as well as spelling. If the programmer has misspelled words you must misspell them the same way. (He may have had a very good reason why he misspelled them.) To get back to your interaction with the bus driver, you may want to give the coins to the driver. If you say "Give the driver the coins", the program will think that you are trying to give the driver to the coins. You approach him and introduce yourself. He is, indeed, Jose, the Chicelero that you had arranged to meet. Jose has spent most of his life in the rain forest. Chiceleros know the rain forest better than anyone else as they spend their lives in search of the chicle trees. They tap the bark of the trees and collect the sap that runs out which they then sell for the manufacture of chewing gum. The advent of the use of synthetic materials in gum has depressed the chicle industry and the chiceleros have had to find other ways to make a living. Being in the forest all the time, chiceleros are the most likely people to run across evidences of previous civilizations. Many have supplemented their incomes by selling artifacts recovered from ruins they have found. Jose claims knowledge of such a ruin in the forest, a large pyramid, that no one has yet officially excavated. It was not originally intended for public distribution, although it is a complete and playable adventure. A finished version of the adventure is expected to be complete by the end of June, 1990. It will be available for distribution to the public at this time. As version 1.36 was intended for the AGT contest judges, it does not have a set of instructions specific to it. Anyone familiar with AGT should have no problem with it, though: the general AGT instructions are adequate for this adventure. More specific instructions will be included in the long version. "The Pyramid Of Muna" was intended to be an entry level game: easily playable by anyone, even if they have never played another interactive adventure. For that reason, it has many helpful "Help" messages and clues. Even inexperienced adventurers should have little difficulty completing this game if the HELP command is used. The difficulty of play may be increased by refraining from using the HELP commands. Version 2 of "The Pyramid of Muna" has more rooms, characters, nouns and puzzles. It is intended to be used in conjunction with printed maps and a clue or hint book. It will not have as many on screen helps as version 1.36. It is a fuller and more interesting adventure. Please note that the data files for version 2 of Muna are so large that if 5.25" disks are used two drives will be necessary. The data files and run file will not fit on one 5.25" disk. You have been studying the Mayan Pyramids in the state of Yucatan in Mexico and have come across information that leads you to believe that there are other much older ruins in the area that may predate the Mayan civilization. Information you have gathered indicates that these older pyramids were centers of knowledge and great power. You have in your possession an artifact that was found in one of the Mayan pyramids that is unlike anything else from the Mayan period. It is a stone six pointed star with precious gems embedded in it. Writings in the pyramid seem to indicate that this star may be a key to unlocking the secrets of the older ruins. You have also recently made arrangements to meet a Chicelero from the area whom you have heard tells of a pyramid near the town of Muna that has not yet been excavated by archaeologists. He says that there has been digging by treasure hunters, but that it doesn't look like anyone has succeeded in entering the pyramid. Today is the day that you are supposed to meet the Chicelero in Muna. He has promised to take you to the ruin, for a price. Are you ready? END_Introduction
