Picture Versions: How to install and run a game: Windows - pictures version (Glulxe/Blorb) (Windows Glulxe seems to work OK with Windows 95 onwards including NT and XP. With Windows 95 the pictures seem to work OK but the sound may not work) 1. Download the WinGlulxeInstaller.exe program and save it somewhere, eg. in My Documents folder 2. Double-click on WinGlulxeInstaller.exe and follow the installer prompts. Keep the recommended defaults ticked. 3. Create a shortcut if you wish (Select Glulxe.exe with a single mouse click, then on the top menu go to File -> Create Shortcut, then drag the shortcut icon to the desktop, or copy/paste it into the program menu) 4. You should be able to run a game every time you double-click on a downloaded Blorb game file, or you can start up Glulxe and choose a game from the file list. Windows - text version (z5) 1. Download the Frotz interpreter file and unzip the contents 2. To install Frotz: Unzip and save the Frotz files to a folder such as Program Files -> Adventures (go into 'My Computer' and open the hard disc - you may want to go into files -> new -> folder to create a new folder). (Double-click on the Frotz.exe to start) Create a shortcut if you wish (on the top menu go to File -> Create Shortcut and drag it to the desktop, or copy/paste it to the program menu) 3. Set the file association for Frotz: Double-click on a Z5 game file and set its file association to Frotz (tick 'always open with...' and choose Glulxe from the list, or click on 'Browse' to find and choose the Frotz.exe program file) 4. As with Glulxe, the game should run every time you double-click on a z5 game file, or you can load Frotz and open a game from the file list
