Readme for "The Beetmonger's Journal" Interactive Fiction by Aubrey Foil Presented to the 2001 Interactive Fiction Competition (c) 2001 by Scott W. Starkey Thank you for playing "The Beetmonger's Journal". In this directory you should find: 1. Beet.GAM Game data file. 2. Readme.txt This handy informational file. 3. BeetHINT.txt Hints for playing this game. 4. BeetWALK.txt Walkthrough for playing this game. 5. amusing.txt Amusing bits about the game. This game is not playable on it's own. It requires TADS by Mike Roberts, downloadable from ifarchive.org . Load Beet.GAM into the TADS run-time and away you go. "The Beetmonger's Journal" supports HTML-Tads with some fancy bells-and-whistles. However, I have taken pains to make sure that DOS users can play the game fully. Rest assured that there is no vital information hidden in the HTML version, but it does look prettier. The game also looks prettier in HTML-TADS, rather than WinTADS, for obvious reasons. The game has been tested on TADS runtimes of versions 2.5.0 and later. If you run anything earlier, "you takes your chances." This game is copyright 2001.
