The Magii has a roundabout way of talking. Here is a more concise breakdown of what is being asked of you: First, take the things he has given you and find your way to Dardhad. Play with them as you go along; see if you can work any magic, practical or otherwise, with them. When you get to Dardhad, return them to the transit house, intact. This will get you the consideration of the lower council. If, however, you distinguish yourself by doing any of the following things, you will be granted the position of journeyman magii. Learn some magic, any magic. Learn how to heal, and do it. Bring something into this world from a dream. Finally, if you wish to do great service to your kingdom, and doubtless achieve an exalted status among magicians, there are two interconnected feats that will gain you reputation: Find Habib's book of Passages, now interred near the dungeons of the palace. Find the mirror of souls, and destroy it, thus freeing the land of the reign of the Angry King. These are your goals. Keep your ears open, talk with people as you make your way, ask them about things you see, and about themselves. Listen when anything is offered. Don't be afraid to examine and play with things. And, perhaps most importantly, if you do any harm, no matter how inadvertant, try to give balm. Good luck, apprentice... the world is before you!
