You are walking on a dusty road (west of the apple orchard). The path slopes to the south here, heading into a large forest of birch trees. The surrounding forest is shrouded in darkness, as very little light appears to reach the ground. You are walking in a dark forest. Large birchwood trees tower above you, their leaves shrouding the afternoon sky. Only a fraction of light filters down from above, providing minimal lighting. The path appears to head north and south, but where else? You are walking cautiously along in a dark forest (of birchwood trees). You notice a small clearing to the east, while a smaller path breaks off here and heads south. It appears to cross over a swiftly moving river (also to the south and west). You are standing in a small clearing. A cemetary is visible to the north, an odd sight amidst the beauty of the birchwood forest. It appears to spread out towards the east (near a large gate). The gate is not close enough to examine (yet). You have reached a secluded alcove of trees within the forest. It appears as though someone (or something?) has separated the trees from part of the forest proper. Indeed, these aren't birchwood trees at all, but sprawling oaks! Who planted them? You are walking down a well-worn path in the forest. A patch of flowers can be seen by the side of the road here. To the west, a stone bridge crosses over from one side of the river to the other. The river appears to be moving fairly swiftly. You are walking across a stone bridge (crossing a swiftly moving river). Although crossing it does not appear to be too difficult, caution should be taken. On the other side of the bridge lies a smaller path (heading east). You are standing on a dirt path across from a stone bridge. The path heads east across the forest (a few yards away from a small cabin). The cabin appears empty, at least from here. The only exit is back north (across the bridge). You are walking along a well-worn path in the forest. The path has been used many times, for it appears heavily worn and barren. The road continues to the east, heading inside a small cabin. The door appears to be open. You are standing inside a small, one-room cabin. There isn't much here in terms of furniture, although a small fireplace is set into the back wall. You also notice a dining table and a few chairs as well. Looking towards the east, you see a shed. You are standing inside a small toolshed (just outside the cabin). It is very dark here, for there is very little light! From what you can make out, you do notice a small wooden shelf near the back of the shed. The only exit is back west. You are standing at the entrance to a small cemetary. It looks positively spooky and in stark contrast to the serenity of the surrounding forest. You wonder who would place a cemetary within such beauty as this? There are some graves here (some of them marked). You are facing a lone grave. It appears to be unmarked, although an inscript- ion on the stone appears to read 'A.J. Smith (1792-1856)'. You also notice a small statue near the gravesite. It is cast in bronze and appears almost life- like. You are facing the western edge of the cemetary. There aren't any grave markers here, but you do notice an iron gate surrounding the entire edge of the cemetary. Why this was built (or who built it) remains a deep mystery. You are standing in the northern edge of the cemetary. You see a large forest overlooking the cemetary to the north, while a small garden grows towards the east (near a towering oak tree). An iron gate surrounds the cemetary on all sides here. You are facing a stone statue (overlooking a small grave). It is cast in a metallic bronze, with features that resemble a mountain man. He is wearing a cap made from racoon, along with a buckskin vest and a rifle (slung over the shoulder). You are overlooking a cemetary (near an iron gate). You pass easily through a hole, which someone has kindly left for you. A small pond is visible to the south (near a grassy hillside). You have reached the eastern edge of the cemetary. An iron gate is here, with a small wooden door. Looking eastward, you see a small garden (growing near a large and rather ancient looking oak tree). You may wander east, or head back west. You have reached a dead end within the cemetary. A large iron gate prevents further passage to the east. The only exit is back west, towards the center of the cemetary. You are standing in a small garden (near the cemetary). An iron gate fences it off from the nearby grounds of the cemetary. You notice lovely flowers grow- ing in patches here (some of them quite colorful). An old oak stands to the north (alone). You stand before a very ancient oak tree. It's branches look twisted and old, as if time itself has neglected them. You could climb it, but you probably wouldn't get very far; someone has chopped off the lowest branch (for reasons unknown). You are standing near a pond within a large, grassy meadow. The water appears green and lifeless, as the nearby rock is covered in moss. This pond was once lovely, but it has since fallen into neglect. The only exit is back north (towards the cemetary).
