History of Frotz for OS/2 * Frotz 2.01 OS/2 beta 7 (29-Sep-96) Now supports both low and high pitched beeps The display of error messages when loading initialization files has been cleaned up. Frotz pauses to let you see what the errors were. The keyboard changes in beta 6 accidentally removed blocking reads. This has been repaired. (Blocking reads are more efficient than the polling reads necessary for timed input.) * Frotz 2.01 OS/2 beta 6 (22-Sep-96) Beyond Zork fans, rejoice! The numeric keypad now works. (Make sure you have Num Lock turned on.) In consequence, the hack that substituted Alt + number key has been removed. Compiled with EMX 0.9c. (The previous versions used EMX 0.9b.) If you use FrotzEMX.exe, you'll need to either upgrade your EMX runtime or switch to Frotz.exe. Added a PGP-signed list of MD5 checksums for the executables and source code. Remember, it's not paranoia if they really are out to get you. :-) * Frotz 2.01 OS/2 beta 5 (15-Sep-96) User-defined aliases! (see README.OS2 for details) * Frotz 2.01 OS/2 beta 4 (8-Sep-96) Fixed bug in transpose characters (C-t) command You can now cancel file operations by entering '.' as the filename. * Frotz 2.01 OS/2 beta 3 (27-Aug-96) Improved history: * Size increased from 15 lines to 128 lines * Only stores commands 4 or more characters long * Doesn't duplicate previous command (if entered twice in a row) * History search (type beginning of command and press up or down arrow) My copy of Masterpieces arrived yesterday, prompting the following fixes: Added backspace key for Bureaucracy forms Border Zone locked up if you moved the cursor left. So, now you can't use any of the cursor movement commands during timed input. I hope to come up with a better fix for this. * Frotz 2.01 OS/2 beta 2 (25-Aug-96) Buffers output for much better performance * Frotz 2.01 OS/2 beta 1 (never publicly released) Slow but straightforward display routines
