current occupant. Nurse Kandi smiles sweetly at you. Her ordinarily pretty
face is a blur of cloudy white. You blink several times but her appearance
remains the same. Maybe it's just a new look for her, or maybe she overdosed
on Avon. Your eyes divert back to the west, to the only exit from the closet.

`2You offer the valentine to Nurse Kandi. She accepts it happily. “Thanks,
Doc. This is really nice of you, although I'm probably not your type.”
She opens the valentine card, reads silently, then frowns. She reads the
card aloud: “From Suzie to Big John. Get Well Soon.” She giggles.

`2Nurse Kandi looks amused. “I don't know if giving my conference room key
to you is such a great idea, Doc. Remember what happened two weeks ago? You
borrowed my Goo Goo Dolls CD and completely forgot to give it back.”
You frown, remembering that you sold the CD to help raise money for the
upcoming Administrator Appreciation party.

`2Nurse Kandi thinks about your request for the conference room passcard
for a few moments. The valentine must have softened her to the idea.
She sighs, but gives the passcard to you nonetheless.

“Well,” she continues, “if you think I'm hiding in here so you wouldn't catch
me in bed with a patient, then you're all wrong, Doc.” You blink.

`2The nurse blushes as you mention the name but she doesn't say anything.

`2“Oooh, Doc,” she says, “Nurse Todd is such a hunk! You should hire more
guys like him.”

`2“Those 'Insanity Circle' guys give me the creeps, Doc,” Kandi says to you.
“I don't know why you put up with them. Sometimes I think they're too crazy
even for this place!” You nod and decide not to mention the fact that you
only just found out about them today.

`2“Hiya, Doctor,” she answers.

`2You twist and contort your hands in an attempt to make a shadow puppet on
the wall. Nothing happens. That must only work for the patients.

`2You investigate the small closet and realize that there are no shadow
monsters here. That must only work if you're a patient.

`2You wink slyly at Kandi and say “Heh, babeh!” She frowns and says “How rude,”
then slaps you hard across the face.
