HeBGB (version 2.0) The zip file should include this readme, a walkthru, the game files hebgb.dat and hebgb.acd and the arun interpreter for your PC. See the link on my game page to download Arun for other platforms. Run the games in DOS by placing the interpreter and game files in the same directory and type arun hebgb. This is the bug-fix version (I hope) of The HeBGB Horror! I decided to make it available quickly so that anyone who reads the Competition reviews and wants to try the game will have a more user friendly version than the one submitted to the Comp. In a few months, after further reflection, I may tinker some more with the actual game. For this version I've corrected numerous spelling errors (with the help of Steve Griffiths' Alan text extraction utility), added verbs, added missing object descriptions, rewrote descriptions and events to provide clearer clues to puzzles, several of which I've made slightly easier, not to mention adding an alternative solution to one. I also correct, I think, a few things that just plain didn't work right. The rather rudimentary hint system has been improved so that you can now get one hint at a time geared to your location. In addition there's now some background about the game. And don't miss the new cameos by Joey Ramone and Tom Verlaine. During and after Comp 99 I received specific bug reports from Mike Snyder, Elise Stone, J.C. Mason and Vanessa Falls Pinter. Probably others as well. Thanks! If I forgot you let me know. I've done my best to address all the problems mentioned, at least the ones I was able to reproduce. Send comments and bugs to: Eric Mayer at maywrite@epix.net"
