Deprivation Readme.txt July 19, 2014 is a short state-based game developed for IntroComp 2015. The game's primary focus is on the player's internal reality, rather than being focused on puzzles or exterior exploration. It takes place over a series of sleepless nights, but the IntroComp entry only brings us to the end of the first. It is written in TADS3 using the 'lite' adv library. Deprivation.zip contains the following: - Readme.txt: This file. - Deprivation.exe: The executable file for playing on a windows system - Deprivation.t3: Tads game file for playing on non-windows systems. Requires a TADS3 interpreter. Notes: Deprivation in its finished form will occur over a span of nights, as the surreality of sleep deprivation begins to take its toll. This introComp entry only covers the first night, ending when the player tries to sleep and either manages to do so, or realizes that his alarm to go off anyway, so why bother. In actual gameplay there will be limits to how much you can accomplish each night of insomnia before your alarm goes off; for the purposes of the IntroComp, where we only have one night to explore, this limit has been largely removed. One night is all we have. The complete game will be compiled for HTML and available through the author's web-site.
